The Bartender is responsible for providing an exceptional guest experience in our Bar, Lounge areas and Pool while managing liquor and beverage costs.
The following reflects the essential duties for this job, however, does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities of this job at any time. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
Guest Satisfaction: Provide information to guests on food, wine list, and drink specials. Informs staff of unavailable items and also bar specials. Informs customers of weekly and daily specials.Takes orders for drinks from chits generated by servers and verbal orders from Guests. Delivers food and beverage at appropriate times. Ensure service to Guests exceed their expectations. Build rapport with guests. Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, etc. to prepare cocktails and other drinks. Serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Follow all policies for the responsible service of alcohol. Ensures Guests are completely satisfied by quickly resolving any complaints and notifying the manager so he/she can ensure Guest satisfaction as well.
Cost Management:
Slices fruits and prepares other food product for garnishes; avoids waste by preparing only what is needed. Collects money from Guests, makes change, and records transactions on guest receipt.? Ensures charges and covers are correctly entered in to the Point of Sale system. Obtains guest signatures on room charges and credit vouchers. Ensure Guest names and room numbers are correct. Completes accounting closing procedures required by accounting department. Maintains integrity of cash register by properly counting banks to ensure correct totals. Presents chit to each Guest after every round ordered. Manage costs through proper input to POS system, accurate pouring of alcohol, and proper requisitioning and transferring of product from/to other departments. Replenishes bar supplies as needed. Organizes and stocks the bar, liquor storage and wine cabinets daily. Orders or requisitions liquor and supplies to maintain correct levels.
Safety and Cleanliness:
If a Guest has consumed too much alcohol or is disturbing other Guests notify the manager immediately to ease the situation. Collects empty glassware and dishes and is responsible for overall cleanliness of the bar, lounge and pool areas. Attractively displays clean glasses and bottles. Complete side work (i.e., polishing flatware) as assigned and in a timely manner. Ensures that bar is fully stocked and clean for following shift. Assists in the maintenance of a safe work place environment. Maintains a clean, well-groomed persona. Assures bar and restaurant are secure at end of the evening shift. Be in proper uniform, name badge and follow appearance guidelines at all times. Follow proper key control procedure for issued keys. Remain aware of any and all potential security problems and report them to your Supervisor and/or GM. Follow emergency procedures, Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), safety precautions and safest work habits. Carry out any reasonable request by Management and Management Company.
