Job Summary


This position coordinates enrollment functions specific to the admissions, onboarding, and retention of graduate students. This position is based on the Warner Robins campus. Extensive contact with the general public.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Dean of Graduate Studies and the Graduate Admissions Coordinator in executing a student-centered model that positively impacts recruitment, onboarding, and retention of graduate students
  • Supports, creates, and implements graduate enrollment strategies
  • Attends graduate enrollment events, graduate, and career fairs on all MGA campuses, online, and externally
  • Supports the development and implementation of various electronic/technology-based platforms to include the online orientation and various communications (i.e., chat boards, social media, video conferencing) for the purpose of increasing graduate recruitment, enrollment, and retention
  • Reviews and assesses graduate promotional materials and website pages to suggest updates and improvements
  • Assists with hiring and training of student workers
  • Attends on/off campus meetings, prepares various documents (i.e., contracts, promotional materials, assessments, and data reports) for distribution to on and off campus stakeholders and cross-trains to assist with processing admissions applications and documents
  • Provides front-line customer service in person, via phone, and internet to prospective and current students
  • Manages calendars and databases; plans meetings, events, and conferences; maintains files and records
  • Serves as liaison between the Dean and departments/divisions/offices
  • Supports office budget processes to include processes travel requests, disbursement request forms, and check request forms
  • Plans and coordinates semester specific events to include ordering supplies; creating programs, nametags, certificates, etc.; assists with special projects, data collection, and report preparation
  • Informs prospective students about potential academic programs, concentrations, and future career goals
  • Advises and assists applicants and newly admitted students on the next steps of the enrollment process
  • Coordinates communications, including receiving phone calls, responding to emails, and interfacing with faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders regarding graduate enrollment
  • Plans and coordinates educational events such as recruitment tables and graduate fairs and events
  • Assists with special projects, including running and collecting data reports for staff members and corporate partners via Banner and Excel
  • Performs related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and one year experience in admissions and university administrative/customer service operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Excellent writing, editing, speaking, and interpersonal communication habits
  • Demonstrable skills in emotional intelligence
  • Valid driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs including MS TEAMS
  • Knowledge of Middle Georgia State University graduate programs and admissions policies
  • Knowledge of Banner and all software applications to facilitate graduate admissions record-keeping
  • Skill in decision making and problem solving
  • Skill in the provision of customer services to applicants and students
  • Skill in oral and written communication
  • Develop and sustain a level of professionalism among staff and clientele
  • Proficiency in collaboration and delegation of duties
