Will assist with the food & team member safety and value creation quality program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. Assist in implementing food & team member safety and quality training programs. Will assist the VCQ programs in meeting regulatory requirements and customer’s expectation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times.
- Assist achievement of department goals and objectives.
- Implement, understand & stay current with company, regulatory & third-party standards.
- Assist facilities and managers and offer on-site support to address critical issues; provide necessary training
- Prepare and submit reports as required.
- Continually improve, evaluate, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures to protect employees and comply with company, state, federal and local regulations.
- Execute laboratory procedures.
- Conduct daily site walkthroughs, document deficiencies, and coordinate with the appropriate party to remediate or implement corrective action.
- Assist in inspections & audits.
- Assist in collection, documentation, reporting, and training for permits.
- Schedule and facilitate mandatory EHS trainings and certifications. Identify, further develop, and deliver training programs in a manner that raises employee’s awareness and enables employees and supervisors to work safely and in compliance with external and internal policies and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one year related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
- None
- Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Knowledge of Word and Excel
Preferred
- Three years of quality assurance experience with food or seafood industry.
- Associates degree from an accredited college or university in food science, marine/fishery science, biology, microbiology, or other related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
