Stella-Jones is seeking to add a qualified Maintenance Lead to our Tacoma, WA operations. This position directs and coordinates activities of vendors and workers engaged in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment; and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of industrial plant or other establishment. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm. Starting wage is $35.25 and then $36.25 after 90 days.

Responsibilities:

• Manages maintenance work requests, determines priority and assigns appropriate resource.
• Ensures team members comply with all safety, environmental and manufacturing practices
• Communicates to production and quality assurance equipment break downs and estimated time need to complete repairs.
• Confers with venders, management and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measure to improve operation and conditions of machine and equipment.
• Documents and reports maintenance work performed and advises of future requirements in a timely manner.
• Inspects, services, repairs and constructs plant processing equipment, including structures, utilities, loaders, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical, and pressure vessel work throughout the plant.
• Perform repairs on electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical problems
• Performs the preventative maintenance program established by the Company.

Installs special functional and structural parts in devices

• Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment and machinery.
• Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications
• Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
• Participates and contributes to company safety program.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Flexibility – Productivity of the facility is essential so services need to be scheduled to minimize downtime. This is a 24/7/365 facility, overtime and weekend work as needed
• Education – One-year certificate from college or technical school
• One-year related work experience
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with peers
• Experience in hydraulics, electrical, pumps, valves, welding
• Excellent trouble shooting skills
• Basic mechanical knowledge in wood industry preferred
• Ability to read schematics and electrical drawings
• Strong communication skills
