Job Description:
Crum & Forster is currently seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join our team based out of Glastonbury, CT! This role will support our Occupational Accident Profit Center. The Underwriting Assistant role will aid the underwriters with the responsibilities of underwriting, securing & retaining accounts, and the administrative tasks affiliated with the underwriting process. This role will provide the foundational elements to becoming a multiline Underwriter within Accident & Health.

What you will do:
  • Manage pre-qualification of submission documents to ensure adequate information is provided for evaluation
  • Perform account setup within C&F systems
  • Track new business and renewal accounts for timely delivery
  • Execute Proposal & Binder creation as well as revisions
  • Serve as a back-up to account management
  • Complete account reporting and performance metrics
  • Handle ad hoc requests from the underwriting team and Occupational Accident leadership
  • Abide by departmental policies and procedures, including authority levels, to comply with C&F's risk management controls

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • 1 to 2 years experience in a similar position required, or completion of an internship
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools – Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point
