The Physical Therapist Assistant will work Per Diem, Days (7AM – 7:30PM) or Nights (7PM – 7:30AM) and under the general direction of the Director, will provides physical therapy services to patients following the plan of care established by a Physical Therapist.

• Under the supervision of a physical therapist, provides physical therapy services, reassessing the patient's status on each visit and ensuring quality of care as evidenced in the clinical record.
• Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication as evidenced in the clinical record.
• Completes all required paper work to ensure that documentation reflects care provided and the outcomes achieved.
• Maintains and enhances personal knowledge as well as promoting professional standards in physical therapy.
• Acts as a clinical education instructor for students who come from a variety of settings including independent or school-arranged student observations, New Visions, PTA and PT programs.
• Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
• Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's ability to meet its goals and objectives.

Education:

• Graduate of an approved Associate Degree Program as a PTA Experience: Two years' experience with a varied patient population preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• Current NYS Physical Therapy Assistant license. BLS CPR

Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to read, write speak and understand English. Ability to utilize computer documentation and written documentation systems.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand 6 to 7 hours/day and transfer patients with disabilities. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
