Scranton Counseling Center, the area's largest fully integrated and rapidly growing behavioral health provider has opportunities available for quality staff to join our highly regarded Community and School Based Behavioral Health, MST, Outpatient, ACT and Family Based treatment programs for children, adolescents, adults, and families in Lackawanna County.

  • We are seeking mental health professionals/MT's to work as lead clinicians of multidisciplinary teams in area elementary, middle/intermediate and high schools, working with children, families, and school district staff, and provide direction and clinical oversight for behavioral health technicians working as part of the team. Responsibilities include completion of child assessments and crisis intervention as necessary, development and monitoring of individual child treatment plans, review and revision of treatment objectives. The position requires a Master’s Degree in a mental health field and a minimum of one year of child mental health experience. A valid Pennsylvania license in psychology, social work, professional counseling, or NCC certification and/or licensed eligible is required.
  • Outpatient Therapist: Outpatient therapists provide direct 1:1 clinical services to children/adolescents/adults/and family members.
  • MST is an evidence based treatment model working with families and youth exhibiting negative conduct behaviors. The MST therapist conducts assessments and provides direct clinical treatment; provides parent education, training and coaching; facilitates interaction and collaboration with schools, community providers, and the legal system; advocates on behalf of children and families. Ongoing specialized training is provided to MST staff. The position requires a Master’s Degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a directly related field.
  • Family Based services are primarily designed to provide intensive individual and family therapy, as well as crisis stabilization, for children who are at risk of out of home placement. Services typically are delivered at the family home, and/or elsewhere in the community. The MHP assists in the development and implementation of a treatment plan based upon client/family needs, and works with family strengths to facilitate change in family interactive patterns. Extensive ongoing training and supervision in Structural Family Therapy is provided. The position does require some scheduled, nontraditional hours, which could include evenings and weekends. The position requires a minimum of a Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, nursing, or a related human services field, as well as a minimum of two years direct care experience with children/adolescents, and/or families.
  • ACT is a consumer-centered, recovery-oriented mental health Service Delivery Model. ACT Teams are an evidence-based treatment model that facilitate community living, psycho-social rehabilitation and recovery for individuals with the most serious mental illnesses and impairments who have not benefited from traditional outpatient programs. The Vocational Specialist will provide community based counseling rehabilitation services including but not limited to vocational assessment, job development, placement, and job coaching.

Salary starting at $47,000 with increases based on licensure, experience, and position.

There is a $10,000.00 sign on bonus for licensed individuals and $6,000.00 for unlicensed.
