Job Description:
A valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Utah may be required to operate a vehicle.
This position requires a person to possess or obtain an ad valorem personal property auditor/appraiser designation in accordance with the appraiser designation program pursuant to Utah Code Ann. Sections 59-2-701 and 59-2-702, and rule R884-24P-19 within twenty-four (24)) months after the date of hire.
JOB SUMMARY
Performs audits on Personal Property Accounts under the direction of the Personal Property Audit Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, or other closely related field, plus two (2) years of experience as a personal property appraiser, auditor, accountant, or accounting experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Schedules and performs audits of assigned personal property accounts.
- Identifies escaped taxable personal property.
- Writes personal property audit reports.
- Determines taxable value and classifies assets for which there is no recorded cost information.
- Represents the Assessor and educates the public on personal property tax rules and regulations.
- Researches and responds on difficult or controversial situations to various people, groups, councils, officials, and the public; assists the Division Administrator with these functions.
- Assists the Personal Property Audit Manager in the defense of taxable tangible personal property value regarding taxpayer appeals to the County Board of Equalization.
- Assists the manager at hearings in front of the County Board of Equalization regarding taxpayer appeals to the State Tax Commission in the defense of taxable tangible personal property value.
