Job Description:
BerkleeNYC invites applications for a Part-Time Entrepreneurship & Business professor as part of the Masters in Creative Media and Technology program. The ideal candidate will have content expertise and be skilled in pedagogical practices that engage students and make education relevant.
As a recognized professional in this topic area, the faculty member will be responsible for teaching:
Entrepreneurship and Business Practices in the Creative Space - Students will research and analyze relevant examples of creative entrepreneurs to appraise the principles and practices that guided their successful endeavors. Essential business skills, including the creation and execution of pro formas, budgets, negotiations, business models, and plans, will be applied to creative ventures. This class is held in a seminar format, with the entire Songwriting & Production cohort meeting at the same time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience teaching at the university level (preferred).
  • Record of creative scholarship/professional activity & business acumen.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills .
  • Command of technology to support professional work and advance teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teach Entrepreneurship and Business Practices in the Creative Space, a 2-hour course offered in the Spring Semester on campus at 441 W53rd street NYC.
  • Teach 1 section of this course weekly.
  • Hold weekly office hours on campus, advising students in the Masters of Arts in Creative Media and Technology program at BerkleeNYC
  • Serve as faculty advisor as needed for students in the above program, including serving on the jury for culminating experience thesis projects
  • Review & Submit syllabi for all courses assigned.
  • Attend Department meetings and contribute to the faculty community of BerkleeNYC and Berklee.
  • Contribute to the further development of the course & program.
  • Engage in professional development to maintain and continually advance teaching skills.
  • Maintain, leverage and expand their professional network.
