Position Summary:
This is a Receptionist position with responsibility for greeting customers, providing information, communicating with departments, and performing a variety of secretarial duties. ENTAA Care a practice pod of Johns Hopkins Regional Physicians LLC.
Education:
Minimum of one year's experience in a medical health setting.
Work Experience:
Minimum of one year's experience in a medical health setting.
Knowledge/Skills:
Applicant must be highly motivated and have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced office with strong interpersonal skills and with a friendly and empathic manner.
Experience with computerized EMR (electronic medical records) systems highly desirable: familiarity with use of computers is required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with staff, physicians, Howard County General Hospital departments, patients, families and outside agencies in such a manner as to gain their confidence and secure their cooperation and respect.
High level of patience, tolerance, and tact in order to deal effectively with people and time pressures.
Professional demeanor, attitude and appearance.
Initiative and assertiveness in dealing with problems.
Knowledge of operator tasks, clinic policies/procedures and paperwork.
Knowledge of use of office equipment including phone, computer, and scanner.
Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques.
Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement (insurance) policies.
Knowledge of grammar, spelling punctuation and sentence structure to answer correspondence and prepare reports.
Full knowledge of medical record, reception, allergy and call center functions, procedures and
Protocols to be able to act as a temporary fill in if short staffed.
Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy sufficient to review and develop procedures used in health data records pertaining to our practice.
