Title: Mechanical Engineer – Diesel Engine Fuel Systems
Location: GE Transportation (A Wabtec Company) – Grove City or Erie, PA
Job Description:
We have an immediate opening for a Project Engineer to support production. The Project Engineer is responsible for the management of multiple engine module projects in terms of scope, timely delivery, quality, and compliance in a technical/engineering environment. This position interfaces with respective customer departments and local suppliers to drive project execution.
Responsibilities:
- Drive cross-functional teams to execute on critical project milestones, including but not limited to design reviews, business toll gates, supply chain, prototype builds, field and bench testing, etc.
- Creatively looking for cost-saving opportunities within locomotive maintenance/repair program; analytically and technically.
- Provide factory following support for launch components, existing builds and “re-man” units thru production and assembly.
- Interface between responsible engineers, manufacturing and product definition teams.
- Coordinate rework and disposition of changes for assigned components.
- Lead issuance of change requests to product definition and review and approve amended documentation.
- Assist in supporting lean shop floor initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Daily interface with manufacturing and assemblers on the shop floor.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Solid interpersonal/communication and leadership abilities.
- Strong Project Management background and proven experience with leading various technical projects.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, with an understanding of GD&T as applied to tolerancing and stack-ups.
- Knowledge or practical experience with gas or diesel engines a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Excel usage.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
