Description:

The Mechanical Engineer will be a team member of the Engineering and Development team for new and existing products. This includes the research and design of new heat exchangers, combustion systems, integrating electro-mechanical systems, and other HVAC components. Developing assemblies, BOMs and component integration. Design for manufacturing and efficiency is critical.

Essential Job Functions:

The Mechanical Engineer will have several Roles and Responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:

  • Engineering new products and the improvement of current products.
  • Respond to a build to order manufacturing process.
  • Works with sheet metal to design cabinet and enclosures for HVAC equipment.
  • Design and Integration of fan coil components, including valves, blowers, coils, and electronics.
  • Design in compliance with ASME, ANSI, CSA, UL and DNV standards.
  • Provide written and oral updates and necessary information to productions staff, clients, and sales associates.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of best practices and procedures; and help promote a results-oriented atmosphere within the company.
  • Communicate and work in concert with staff towards successful completion of project and total client satisfaction.
  • Consult with management and review project proposals towards project objectives and goals, timeframes, funding limitations, and required resources.
  • Develop, adjust and monitor project plans specifying goals, scheduling, risks, contingency plans, and allocation of resources.
  • Uses established standards and procedures for project reporting documentation.
  • Review and prepare project status reports to keep management advised of project status and related issues.
  • Must perform all work in accordance with all safety procedures.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical or a related science.
  • 3-5 years Mechanical Engineering experience preferred.
  • Must understand sheet metal, forming, complex assemblies, and integrated systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and process development.
  • Must have 2+ years working with/in CAD systems, 3D modeling and assemblies is a must SolidWorks, SolidWorks Flow Simulation (or other CFD software) experience is preferred.
  • Must have experience with analysis of process capability and development/implementation of improvement plans.
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and a team player.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
  • Available for travel.
