Education Recommendations



Currently a candidate for a Master’s degree or diploma in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Technical Communication, or other related fields with an accredited school in US


What you will learn and contribute to

As a Training Instructional Designer, you’ll work with business partners to identify training needs and create video-based, micro-learning and virtual training using cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions. You will enable learners’ understanding through relevant activities, author measurable learning checkpoints, and develop materials that promote transfer, retention, and application. You’ll work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where quality, creativity, and accountability are expected.

Your role will be to participate in several Scrum teams as a learning designer responsible for: developing the tools, templates, and training materials to help our team create scaled, online, social and interactive learning experiences and bringing your skills to a team of passionate educators and consultants to help build an industry-best developer advocacy function.


As part of our team, you'll be working on:

  • Building out multi-month onboarding curriculums and courses, that are scaled, interactive, social, and online for developer advocacy.
  • Developing standards and practices for the development and deployment of courses and curriculum for a variety of Sales, Pre-Sales, Developer, and Partner personas.
  • Conducting needs assessment/ review of current practice in instructional design and recommend, Tools, Templates and Checklists to address identified needs
  • Creating professional accessible materials that are focused on the targeted outcomes and building and refining prototypes with feedback from the team
  • Selecting and using a variety of techniques to define and sequence the instructional content and strategies to design instruction that reflects an understanding of the diversity of learners and groups of learners.
  • Evaluating and assessing instruction and its impact on learners and the business.

What is Nokia looking for from me


You have:

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in writing instructional content
  • Ability to create compelling and engaging content for a global audience
  • Experience examining, building, and assessing curricula for asynchronous and synchronous virtual training environments

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Experience with instructional systems design models and methodologies, authoring tools, and learning management systems
  • Experience as a content developer on Instructional Systems Design projects related to adult learners
  • Exposure to Web authoring and multimedia tools such as basic HTML, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop. Experience with JavaScript and CSS a plus
  • Instructional design experience using ADDIE or similar methodology
  • Experience designing large-scale, social, online learning programs (MOOCs or similar)
