POSITION SUMMARY

• Provide Journeyman’s level HVAC maintenance support on Fort Belvoir project site. Performs maintenance, diagnostic testing, overhauling, installation, and repairs on a large variety of types of air-conditioning, dehumidification, refrigeration, ventilation and heating systems equipment and controls within critically controlled environmental installations. This position may require a flexible working schedule.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Researches specifications as provided by other parties and makes installation corrections required ensuring proper function of equipment as required by tenant agency requirements
• Building maintenance tasks, which must be performed to proficiency including, but are not limited to: makes adjustment and repairs to HVAC, and electrical systems
• Performs preventative maintenance functions which include, but are not limited to: changing filters, cleaning cooling towers, heating and cooling coils
• Responsible for emergency after hour call backs determined by facility coordinator and all other assigned duties not to exceed technical level of HVAC Mechanic
• Functions independently to make decisions and sound recommendations concerning HVAC operations and maintenance required experience

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Business, Accounting, Finance Materials Management, or related field
• Three – five years of experience as a licensed HVAC mechanic
• Three years of DDC Controls experience
• Shall have knowledge of electrical and mechanical operation and maintenance of HVAC equipment. 3-5 Years Journeyman’s level experience required
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 pounds
• Some climbing and balancing
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling
• Position requires 15% sitting, 40% walking, and 45% standing
• High noise levels are common with general maintenance
• Must have the ability to maintain assigned work hours
• Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time
• Must work in office setting and in non-office settings such as machinery rooms, electrical distribution centers, server rooms, and industrial locations
• Work requires exposure to heat/cold, noise, dusts, mist, and/or fumes
• Requires wearing personal protective equipment such as COVID-19 mask, safety glasses, fall protection harness, protective-toe footwear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection
• Required the ability to climb ladders and work at heights
• Work hazards include electrical shock, confined spaces, and noise hazards
