Job Summary:
Responsible for adequately diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and performing preventative maintenance on heavy equipment diesel machinery. The ideal candidate will bring valuable experience to the table and be ready & willing to hit the ground running in this mechanic role.
Responsibilities:
- Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
- Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
- Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Completes required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.**
- Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
- Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
- Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
- Performs maintenance related work as required.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
Requirements:
- 3+ years' working with Heavy Equipment for Diagnostics, Repair and Service
- Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have current DL
- Must live in the area or be willing to relocate within a reasonably commutable distance
