Quality Child Care is currently seeking a caring, dedicated, and energetic Food Service Specialist to join our professional team.

Responsibilities:

• Setting up, cleaning, and organizing the kitchen
• Preparing all food items as directed in a sanitary, safe, and timely manner
• Operating standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Recording food, refrigerator and freezer temperatures
• Daily cleaning of the kitchen
• Organizing, labeling and storing food items in appropriate spaces on delivery day.
• Adhering to proper portion sizes and serving methods for each age group.
• Plating and serving meals in a timely manner for breakfast, lunch, and pm snack. Meals must be delivered to classrooms on schedule.
• Menu planning
• Weekly inventory of food and food related products to prepare a list and order items as needed.
• Maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
• Working closely with management to make sure all food service requirements are met.
• Attending required trainings and staff meetings.
• Ability to interact in an up-beat, positive, and appropriate manner with the children upon delivering meals or when moving through classrooms.
• Sweep and mop the hallway and clean two bathrooms during the children's nap time.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

• One year of professional cooking experience is preferred
• Food handler or ServSafe certification is preferred
• Infant, child, and adult CPR &First Aid must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Negative TB test or equivalent required before start date
• NC Criminal Records Qualification Letter from the Division of Health and Human Services required before start date
• Experience and knowledge of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)

Required Skills & Abilities

• Applicant must demonstrate good work ethic and the ability to communicate with others in a professional and friendly manner
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Organizational skills and cleanliness are a must
• This job requires that you be on your feet and moving for more than 85% of the workday
• Must be able to lift 20 pounds as needed

• For the time being, Masks are required to be worn properly by all staff members when inside the building. Applicant would need to be able to wear a cloth face covering while working

This job could be full-time or part-time depending on applicants' preference, and responsibilities are subject to change if needed to accommodate part-time hours.

Please note the applicant will need to be able to communicate in a positive and age-appropriate manner with children. Childcare experience is a plus and the opportunity to move up into a classroom in time is an option to those that are interested and willing to obtain the proper education.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
