At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Web Developer Senior you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Web Developer Senior joining our team to help CDC/CSELS/DHIS support a transition to cloud based systems, and data modernization.
HOW A WEB DEVELOPER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Develops, codes, deploys, and maintains web applications and websites- Work with the DHIS team remotely to introduce new technologies
- Research and develop potential prototypes for modernization activities associated with the Cloud Data Lake migration and Enterprise Data Analytics and Visualization (EDAV) platform on Azure cloud (part of the Modernization Initiative).
- Implement update to the Apache Tomcat and Java libraries for the WONDER web app; perform subsequent testing and develop plans for release
- Develop recommendations, prototypes, and implementation plan for updating or replacing the current “chart” capabilities for WONDER web app.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: BS in Computer Science or similar
- Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience: developing and supporting web applications implemented in Java, administering IIS web server and Apache Tomcat servlet engine, Agile Scrum experience
- Required Technical Skills: developing and supporting APIs that return XML and JSON, utilizing SQL Server ETL processes, creating and maintaining SQL Server databases, tables, and stored procedures
- Required Skills and Abilities: Strong written and verbal communication, working in small teams
- Preferred Skills: Eclipse, Tortoise, ANT, CVS, XML, JSON, Java, Apache Tomcat, IIS web server
