General Purpose:
The Vice President of Finance will develop and implement strategies that enhance the resort’s ability to effectively manage its core assets, operations and resources. The focus of the role will be on optimizing the EBITDA contribution, as well as assessing new revenue opportunities, cost efficiencies and business initiatives
Essential Duties:
- Efficiently manage all aspects of management and financial reporting, budgeting and planning, forecasting and performance, associated with the resort operations.
- Review the operating financial statements for all business units for accuracy and to identify any corrections that are necessary.
- Scrutinize budgets; perform variance analysis and follow-up on a regular basis with resort managers.
- Develop short and long-range financial forecasts for the resort operations; provide recommendations and strategies related to enhancing the organization’s future performance.
- Oversee resort revenue accounting functions and internal controls to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepares cash flow projections as required by the resort and by the Owner.
- Ensure appropriate business controls are in place for all transaction processes.
- Monitor the business units specific to adherence to business process, advises and makes corrections as necessary.
- Interpret and communicate complex accounting, analysis, and business information.
- Lead business process improvement initiatives that are in alignment with the Owner’s requests.
- Lead the financial analysis, management reporting, forecasting and planning teams to deliver timely, reliable and consistent, insightful, financial information.
- Collaborate with the Owner and other members of the Senior Leadership Team to develop integrated resort plans and support the development of strategic options designed to optimize the business and enhance profitability and efficiency of the operations.
- Direct the preparation and presentation of the 5 year financial plan, including operating and capital projections.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline is required along with a minimum of 6-10 years of relevant professional experience in Hospitality or related field.
- Must have CPA
Basic Required Skills:
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must have excellent computer skills
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the rooms discipline and hospitality profession, including experiential knowledge for management of people and complex problems.
- May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
- Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by building environmental systems.
- Sitting, walking, and standing are required throughout the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.
- Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 25-50 lbs. as needed.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
