This position at Lipari Foods Operating Company, LLC is responsible for the management of transportation functions in Little Rock, Arkansas. In this fast-paced leadership position, the Transportation Manager will oversee the Driver Safety Program, DOT qualifying, road testing /hiring of drivers, and support the Equipment Manager in maintaining an array of logistical equipment. The Manager will stay in accordance with Lipari Food’s policies and applicable laws and generally supports the daily functions of the department shipping to thousands of customers daily.

The Transportation Department at Lipari Foods is a fast growing and evolving area of the company. Due to that growth, we are seeking a well-rounded Transportation Professional who is in lock step with industry trends, familiar with multi-stop Routing, refrigerated multi-temp food distribution, and comfortable analyzing significant amounts of data that drives decision making in the department. Must have the ability to organization across the many facets of the department including Routing efficiency, Payroll reduction, Employee meetings, Dispatch functioning, Customer Service, and dealing with all of the departments in the Lipari organization that the Transportation function touches each day.

***A VALID CDL CLASS A LICENSE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.***

Description of Responsibilities:

· Manage and provide leadership to the day-to-day operations, as they relate to the Lipari Foods private fleet

· Oversee the training of newly hired drivers (route and night shuttle)

· Coordinate ongoing skills and safety training as it relates to the fleet

· Ensure fleet compliance with all applicable Department of Transportation, Federal, State and Local Regulations

· Fully investigate and follow up on accidents and injuries

· Direct, hire, terminate, counsel and reward staff as needed

· Travel to satellite drop-points or 'depots', throughout the service area to perform depot and lead driver evaluations as required

· Continue to improve the transportation processes to reduce costs and improve service

· Work with transportation staff to identify cost-savings, and implement equipment and maintenance solutions

· Prioritize/re-prioritize daily tasks and resources

Required Skills:

· A valid CDL Class A License

· Minimum of 1 year and 50,000 miles driving experience

· Minimum of 2 years transportation management experience

·Strong knowledge of DOT, state, and local compliance guidelines

· Excellent knowledge of safety best practices in relation to a large, multi-state transportation network

· Strong leadership competencies

· Above average verbal and written communication skills

· Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to manage details

· MS Office Suite experience (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)

· Ability to travel regionally as needed

· Ability to support company growth by developing a cost efficient transportation network, strong leadership & multi-tasking capabilities

Desired Skills:

· 5 years Transportation experience

· Familiar with multi-temperature food distribution

· Knowledge of third party relationships in the area of full service maintenance leasing

· Knowledge of RoadNet / Omnitracs / Intelogis truck routing and tracking technologies

· Additional safety training as it relates to transportation

· Additional DOT compliance training as it relates to, drug and alcohol testing, etc.
