Supplier Development Engineer | Immediate Need | Remote
- Pay: $60-$70/hour
- Location: Remote
- Start Date: As soon as available
- Duration: 1+ year
A Fortune 500 Aerospace Manufacturing Organization is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to fully support 8 – 10 commodities suppliers for subcontracting purchasing contracts.
Supplier Development Manager Responsibilities:
- Support and Manage Machined Commodities Suppliers
- Lead Global Sourcing Suppler assessment process activities
- Liaison with internal/external commodities teams
- Lead commodity-specific supplier improvement projects in QDRC (quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost)
- Direct and lead improvement activities in areas of Six Sigma and Manufacturing
- Work with Statistical Analysis products such as SPC XL, or similar
- Required travel to supplier locations as needed (up to 60% - 75%)
Required Skills:
- 3-5 yrs experience in quality/manufacturing engineering production environment
- Specialized technical knowledge / expertise within a specific commodity is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to align supply base with commodity strategies
- Blackbelt training (certification preferred)
- Advanced knowledge in Six Sigma activities, incl. Kaizen and VSM (Value Stream Mapping)
- Solid understanding of AS9100, ISO-9001, and TS-16949 quality standard requirements
- 4 yr degree in Engineering
- Microsoft office products experience
