EAD Engineering is looking for a Structural Designer for industrial projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and provide industrial Structural design drawings for a multi-discipline core team
  • Confer with engineers and experts to interpret design concepts and determine type of detailed working drawings required for successful project execution
  • Develop detailed designs for construction according to engineering sketches and design proposals
  • Effectively review and analyze sketches, engineering drawings, concepts, and other related design data to determine factors affecting designs
  • Modify and revise designs to correct and/or eliminate project interferences
  • Review and delegate project workflow to project team ensuring all timelines and goals are achieved
  • Interface with clients, utility companies, construction administrators, contractors and vendors
  • Develop and cultivate professional relationships for business opportunities
  • Responsible for adhering to all EAD's safety standards and practices
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Associates of Science Degree in Drafting related field or combination of education and related experience required
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the structural drafting/design field required
  • Proven proficiency with AutoDesk Software primarily AutoCAD and Revit
  • Knowledgeable in structural and architectural drafting practices and procedures
  • Experience with Structural Steel Detailing Manual and ACI Concrete Detailing Manual is a plus. Knowledge of Architectural Drafting Standards is also a plus.
  • Able to read and interpret specifications, architectural, electrical, structural, and mechanical plans
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with clients & in-house staff
  • Ability to set priorities and organize work to meet project deadlines
  • Able to read and interpret construction plans
  • Must possess a knowledge of electrical design and be familiar with applicable Codes and Standards (OSHA, IBC, NFPA)
  • Demonstrated independent worker requiring minimal direction
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task while working on numerous projects simultaneously
  • Possess and able to maintain a valid driver's license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Working Conditions:

  • Office or plant environment*
  • Ability to sit and work at computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditions
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.*
  • Periodic weekend or evening work as needed
  • Travel may be required
  • EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment as necessary.
