Job Duties

Under direct or general supervision is regularly and customarily responsible for the operation of the Indian River Power Plant Storeroom to which assigned. This includes such work as the following illustrative duties, together with other related and incidental work:

• 
  Receives, cares for, disburses, ships and inventories materials and supplies passing through the storeroom and maintains necessary storeroom records and reports.

• 
  Is responsible for the physical condition, housekeeping, orderliness, and cleanliness of the storeroom, toolroom, and adjacent yard and its contents.

• Disburses tools and equipment from the tool room and maintains appropriate records.

• 
  Performs necessary clerical work incidental to the job.

• 
  When required, directs the work of and instructs others assigned to assist in the storeroom and/or toolroom.

• 
  Operates automotive equipment, forklift and other mechanical equipment used in stores work, when required.

• 
  Must be able to operate various types of equipment designed for entering, retrieving and processing information related to Power Plant Stores Department.

• 
  Will be required to periodically report to Vienna Power Plant and perform similar storeroom duties.

In addition to the above and other work of similar grade, a Power Plant Stockkeeper will be assigned to any other work of equal or lesser skill, within the capabilities of the individual, to meet emergencies or other operating needs.

Requirements

• 
  Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, hot and cold temperatures and moderate to high noise environments. This position requires a person to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, push, walk, stand and climb.

• 
  Must possess a minor degree of skill or acumen in order to perform routine work by following detailed instructions.

• 
  Must have successfully complete pre-job testing requirements.

• 
  Must be willing and able to work extra and/or irregular hours including holidays and weekends.

• 
  Must be able to exercise judgment acceptable to the Company in matters of relatively minor importance and narrow scope.

• 
  Must be qualified to direct and instruct others helping on the same or related work, when required.

• 
  Must possess or be able to promptly obtain the appropriate vehicle operator's license.

• 
  Must wear required personal protective equipment at all times.

• 
  Proficient computer skills.

  Experience working in and maintaining a storeroom or stockroom.

• 
  Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability and willingness to learn.
