As a member of honeycomb’s team, the Staff Accountant supports the accounting and financial function and reports to the Financial Controller. This includes ensuring accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable and payroll, including research/resolution of vendor account and community issues, allocation of various funds, and preparation of month end journal entries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage accounts payable using accounting software and other programs.

2. Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts.

3. Receive, allocate and enter high volume invoices from multi-facilities.

4. Maintains all invoices, documentation, travel receipts, vendor receipts and other appropriate billing and invoicing as needed and assigned for finance, accounting, payroll, accounts payable and/or other special projects as needed by supervisor.

5. Prepares and analyzes financial records handling the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department.

6. Ensures bills and payroll are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.

7. Exhibits professional behavior in communications, personal meetings, providers, vendors, etc.

8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors’ degree required. 1 to 2 years or more experience in accounting or accounts payable. Advanced Excel skills. Experience in healthcare/clinical setting preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Accounts payable and accounting experience. Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline. Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds. Commitment to excellence and high standards. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to manage priorities and workflows. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
