Job Function:

  • Ideate with the team to define innovative Ophthalmic Systems and products for Remote Care.
  • Conceptualize and compare different design options.
  • Perform analysis and simulation using modeling tools.
  • Work in a cross-functional team to model, develop, build, test, and refine:
  • usability prototypes,
  • ophthalmic imaging and measurement prototypes,
  • data transfer and management,
  • Iterate on a rapid time scale in an agile environment to take prototypes to increase levels of dependability.
  • Consistently demonstrate strategic thinking and innovation and help architect Work hands-on in the lab and in the eye clinic.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics, advanced degree preferred.
  • Twelve (12) years’ industry experience in system engineering, or a combination of advanced education and experience. A related Master’s or Ph.D. may be considered in lieu of a portion of the experience requirement
  • Experience in at least two of the following areas: systems engineering, optical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, computer science, robotics, automation, embedded systems, real-time computing, control theory, firmware development, mobile devices, consumer electronics, and algorithm development
  • Demonstrated history of developing commercially successful products.
  • User experience-driven design experience
  • Previous success in rapid prototyping and agile development cycles
  • Proven track record of working successfully in a rapidly changing environment with high levels of uncertainty.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Strong collaborator, good communication skills with ability to manage cross-functional collaboration, ability to manage by influence.
  • Experience with miniaturization of opto-mechanical and opto-electrical systems, strongly preferred
  • Experience in medical device development, ophthalmic instruments, or image processing, preferred
  • Experience in advanced manufacturing technologies for consumer electronics, preferred
  • System architecture design experience is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $99,149.74 - $204,924.92 per year
