Responsibilities:
- Program C.N.C. machines.
- Maintain and update all N.C. program files.
- Supply machine operators with set-up and run information as required.
- Design, draw, and coordinate large tooling fixtures and tooling masters for use on machines.
- Create flat patterns in order to machine parts.
- Improve on old N.C. computer programs to increase productivity and ease of machining.
- Act as liaison between Engineering, Methods and Manufacturing departments.
- Convert drawing files to Iges files for the Shoda and N.C. Punch machines.
- Design and program form dies.
- Export and import computer files to other companies for use in building Company fixtures and parts.
- Write post processors for our existing and new machines.
- Research new tooling for the N.C. machines (inserts, toolholders, etc.)
- Interface with various departments and advise with technical information and guidance.
- Perform housekeeping chores as department requirements dictate.
- Attend training as required.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a computer programming or related field, at least five years experience with three years N.C. machining experience and two years experience Unigraphics required or equivalent education and experience.
- Thorough understanding of machining, sheet metal flat pattern layout, and computer programming is required to perform the duties in this position.
