Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, analytical, and results-oriented individual to serve as Staff Assistant/Child Protection Training Academy (Simulations) Technical Coordinator in the Office of Learning and Professional Development. Performs a variety of complex and high-priority assignments in a fast-paced environment, some of which may be of a sensitive nature. Under the direction of the Child Protection Training Academy (Simulations) Staff Development Training Administrator, this position will serve as liaison with internal staff, contractors, external stakeholders, and other Departmental divisions and provide technical and logistical assistance in the resolution of any issue which involves OLPD Simulations operations to achieve program objectives. The position will also handle assigned special projects, schedule and coordinate trainings and meetings, and prepare analytical reports. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented and interested in playing a supportive role in the agency’s training of direct services new hires. Job Responsibilities
1. Serves as Staff Assistant/Child Protection Training Academy (Simulations) Technical Coordinator.
2. Leads the identification of and resolution of Simulations technical and logistical matters.
3. Tracks Simulations operational and administrative schedules, data, events, personalservices, commodities, and contractual functions.
4. Provides Organizational Support.
5. Arranges and attends meetings and provides administrative support.
6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope ofthe duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
2. Requires one year of professional experience in a public or private organization, or satisfactory completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
Preferred Qualifications
1. 2 years of experience in a public or business organization applying knowledge of office organizational and operational best practice standards.
2..2 years of experience in a public or business organization utilizing knowledge of interactive scheduling software and meeting-related technology, such as WebEx, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
3. 2 years of experience in a public or business organization utilizing working knowledge of office-related equipment and software applications, such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and website applications.
4. 2 years of experience in a public or business organization utilizing extensive critical thinking, analytical, planning, and project management skills.
5. 2 years of experience in a public or business organization applying oral and written communication skills, including composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Conditions of Employment
1. Requires the ability to pass a background check.
2. Requires the ability to travel, including overnight stays.
3. Requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
4. Requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
