Shipping & Receiving Associate Job at Sandy Alexander
The Shipping and Receiving Associate will perform general warehouse duties related to inbound and outbound shipments, material inventory, and operation of paper baling equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Retrieve finished product from manufacturing and shrink-wrap and strap per the job ticket instructions.
- Verify the accuracy of Bill of Ladings for job number, forms/versions, counts, description of items being shipped, carrier, weight, and destination.
- Verify skids are properly tagged with job number, description of product, number of skids being shipped.
- Verify the counting and packaging of orders being shipped.
- Locate the finished product, stage for shipment and load on proper carriers.
- Ship orders including, but not limited to, UPS, FedEx, DHL, USPS, and LTL carriers.
- Receive incoming material, verify material to packing slip, inspect for physical damage and note discrepancies on packing list/shipping documents.
- Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
- Pull paper stock based on job tickets and identification labels and deliver to press.
- Operate baling equipment to shred and bind paper by-products generated from print process.
- Thread tie bands around bales and record the gross weight and material grade.
- Stack completed bales or load on trucks.
- Perform routine maintenance on the baling machinery and remove obstructions in the cyclone as needed.
- Perform other duties that may include mail sort, packing or other duties as directed.
- Adhere to Sandy Alexander's quality and environmental policies, procedures, goals, and objectives and comply with all safety and work rules when performing duties.
- Complete and maintain all required checklists, paperwork, records, documents, etc., and maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
