Job Title: Receiving Operator

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Plant Manager

Summary/Objective

The role of the Receiving Operator is responsible to receive shipment of goods, unload and store all materials received at the facility. Must meet production goals and adhere to established safety and efficiency standards.

Essential Functions

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive shipment of goods and materials
• Check manifestation to account for all items
• Inspect goods and report defective or questionable conditions to supervisor
• Unload trucks and store all materials in designated location using forklift
• Meet production standards for completion of all assignments
• Address any problems to ensure quality control including preventative maintenance per instructions and guidelines; reports defective materials and equipment
• Utilize personal protective equipment and continuously adheres to safety guidelines
• Participate in cross training opportunities to maximize operation effectiveness

Work Environment

Generally, exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold), dust, odors, fumes. Noise level is moderate to loud.

Physical Demands

Frequently required to lift 10 - 50lbs, sit for long periods of time, climbing in and out of forklift.

Occasionally required to walk and stand, reach with arms and hands, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch balance, or crawl.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full Time 40/hr.

Required Education and Experience

• 1 -2 years’ experience in similar role

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Forklift operation and certification
• High School Diploma or GED highly preferred
• Ability to read instructions, understand and meet all guidelines
• Proficiency in English highly preferred
• Good communication skills
