The National Systems Group serves as the technical adviser to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.
The mission of the Advanced Mission Integration Directorate is to develop IC/DoD capabilities to accelerate data access and extend warfighter capabilities to protect the United States’ advantage on the battlefield. We are looking for a DoD/IC Science & Technology Engineer to serve as a technical advisor to perform strategic planning to get the most out of hardware, software, and network investments.
This position requires 100% on site work in Chantilly, VA
What You’ll Be Doing
-
Act as a technical representative to senior government customer coordinating the development of an enterprise information architecture for a virtual lab, advise on R&D acquisition activities, contribute technical expertise with resource decisions. and foster innovative technical concepts to ensure capabilities successfully meet tactical level needs.

Team with customer to define analytical needs, develop study schedule, and present results performed by Aerospace’s Engineering Technology Group to inform architecture and budget decisions.

Evaluate and advise on the applicability of emerging technology to solve warfighter/user requirements.

Establish and foster connections with industry, DoD and Academia research labs, and S&T SMEs to conduct lab development and prototyping

Perform modeling and analysis of current and future spaceborne reconnaissance architectures.
This position can be filled as Project Engineer or a Sr. Project Engineer.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requireme
nts for
Project Engineer:
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or another technical discipline
-
8 years of progressively more responsible experience in systems engineering within the intelligence community
-
Familiarity with, web services interface, cloud computing, containerization, and microservices
-
Experience developing simulations with the following M&S tools: SOAP or Systems Tool Kit Experience with SIGINT, GEOINT, and associated ground systems
-
Willingness to travel domestically (15%) to contractor locations in and outside the Washington, D.C., area
-
This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
In addition to the above,
Senior Project Engineer requires the following:

12 years of relevant experience in engineering, physics, mathematics, or another technical discipline
-
Experience to develop and evaluate MBSE (SysML, UAF, DoDAF) models
-
Experience in all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle: concept development, requirements engineering, system design and development, systems integration, test and evaluation

Advanced degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or another technical discipline

Direct experience with the GEOINT and SIGINT mission area from the DoD or IC perspective

Familiarity with programming languages, such as Python and Java
