Great hours! Shifts between 5-9 hours long. No weekends or evenings. Shorter days on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Our integrative family-owned practice is looking for a nurse to provide IV nutraceutical therapy, triage and case management. A nurse at IMC works to promote good health and prevent illness. She/he educates patients about various medical conditions; administers medication and IVs; provides advice and emotional support to patients' families; records patients' medical information in a detailed, accurate manner; ensures that patients' conditions remain stable and that doctors' treatment instructions have been properly carried out. She/he is responsible for alerting the doctor to any unique concerns or complaints regarding a patient.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Start and safely administer the IV therapies ordered by the doctor, according to protocols

2. Document IVs, vitals, adverse events, prescriptions and patient status

3. Assess patient vital signs; look for signs and symptoms of adverse reactions or ongoing exacerbations of current illness

4. Alert physician to any problems or changes in patient’s condition

5. Act as patient advocate

6. Assist the physician in patient care as needed

7. Educate patients, in accordance with the physician’s guidelines

8. Obtaining prior authorizations from insurance companies for medical exams

9. Follow up regarding expected outcomes and testing for patients

10. Triage patients via telephone or in person

11. Review and maintain chart documentation

12. Other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education: LPN or RN with current NM license

Minimum Experience: At least 1 year experience in a medical office or hospital setting (more is preferred). Significant experience and proficiency administering IV therapy (experience with accessing ports and using small gauge - as small as 27 gauge - needles a plus). Physically able to bend, lift 25 pounds, and stand for a length of time. Have a working knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA. Computer experience a plus. An interest in Integrative Medicine preferred, including learning about healthy diet and lifestyle, vitamins, herbs. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Experience communicating with insurance companies and knowledge of insurance coding. Good communication skills and phone skills. Must be a good leader, a self-starter, observant, team oriented, a good communicator and possess good people skills.
