JOB SUMMARY

Incumbent develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Supports Quality
Management System.

BASIC SKILLS

  • Read and write at High School Level in the English language
  • Ability to read electrical drawings
  • Exercise good judgment and problem solving
  • Ability to use MS Office products

  • Works well with others in team or work groups
  • Ability to lead teams if necessary
  • Ability to drive for results through team efforts
  • 2+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Actively participates in Safety Program
  • Adheres to all quality assurance procedures
  • Works overtime as required(sometimes with minimal/short notice)
  • Participates or leads process improvement activities
  • Follows instruction of team lead, supervisor, or manager
  • Analyze our quality program and provide plans for improvement
  • Provides assistance in quality measurements through analysis and provide visual aids to present the information
  • Provide process flow and quality improvements through improved documentation

(i.e. Routings, SOP’s, Travelers)

  • Maintain ESD Control
  • Provide training for ESD, ISO, and others as required
  • Provide ISO support as a representative and internal auditor
  • Provide backup availability for in process and final pre-ship inspection
  • Perform visual inspections while maintaining good interpersonal relations with all manufacturing personnel
  • Be knowledgeable of documentation and use documents for specification, verification
  • Maintain defect data collection and rework tickets
  • Inspect NCR parts for proper information and ensure that the responsible party is notified, (i.e. vendor or CTC or customer)
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as needed.
  • Developing, evaluating, improving and documenting manufacturing processes
  • Developing and implementing process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments
  • Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput
  • Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions
  • Developing and implementing quality standards.

  • Collaborating with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.
  • Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.
  • Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues.
  • Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
  • Reviewing codes, specifications, and processes.
  • EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Two years technical experience and have a strong Quality / ISO background
  • Degree in quality, industrial, or mechanical engineering.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Effective personal and communication skills
  • Formal presentation skills preferred
  • Defect data collection experience
  • Experienced with process flow and quality improvements for manufacturing, statistical process control, materials and corrective action

  • Required to sit for long periods of time and frequent use of hands and fingers, to handle and feel
  • Moderate activity, with occasional bending and stooping, standing and/or walking for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
  • Speaking and hearing: able to comprehend English language
  • See and have visual capability: able to see screens, monitors, and environment
  • Works inside, closely with others
  • Generally works regular work hours, occasionally works after hours
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy and can be loud
  • Warehouse/plant climate can be based upon outdoor weather conditions
  • Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time
