The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position at Gulf Coast Behavioral Health is key to the philosophy and growth of our company and the outcomes of the clients we serve. You will play an important role in the integrated team and often help lead in the process of returning, healing and maintaining health.

This position will morph as our services grow. Initially, services will be provided on an as needed basis to existing psychotherapy patients but this will grow into more regular possible hours as we role out new services including our Partial Hospitalization Program.

Gulf coast is an integrated health clinic treating a general outpatient population including a broad range of ages, cultural backgrounds and illnesses. Gulf coast provides both mental health and substance abuse treatment as well as a focus on preventative care, education, life coaching, relationship counseling and referrals. Treatment settings may include:

• Individuals
• Couples
• Families
• Groups

Requirements:

• Licensed in the state of Louisiana to practice as a Nurse Practitioner with Psychiatric experience
• DEA License – X Waiver Preferred or willingness to apply
• CPR Certification · AANP and/or ANCC certification preferred
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check

Responsibilities:

• Video, message and in-person patient consults
• Evaluate patient and formulate a diagnosis
• Develop, implement and monitor a plan of care
• Manage your patient’s medication regimens you prescribe
• Provide appropriate counselling and therapies for the patient
• Track patient progress and collaborate with other providers regarding plans of care and treatment
