Product Manager Job at Ascensus
Section 1: Position Summary
The Product Manager is expected to act as a product driver, responsible for product line expense, revenue, profitability, and business operating plan goals. This individual is responsible for product analysis and planning, marketing, and competitive analysis. The Product Manager is responsible to obtain and prioritize product and customer requirements and feedback and assist project teams in defining the product vision. This individual is expected to communicate the product vision effectively, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful products and services to support the organization’s overall strategy. The Product Manager is ultimately responsible for direction and execution needed to drive success of their assigned product lines and to timely escalate key issues to allow for resolution.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties, and Responsibilities
- Responsible for direct oversight and development of revenue, expense, profitability, and operating plan objectives for assigned products and services
- Analyze and define product(s) strategy and roadmap to include competitive analysis; define features and requirements to ensure product success developing necessary business cases as needed
- Analyze, define, and refine pricing models based on market, industry, and competitor trends
- Ensure effective and competitive pricing models are maintained or updated on a timely basis
- Provides contractual oversight with third parties to ensure competitive delivery and placement of products
- Deliver marketing and product research and development analysis with prioritized features and corresponding justification
- Identify customer needs, project success and collaboration, and develop ROI with project teams
- Influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Work closely with the service and operations teams to ensure successful and timely product releases of new and existing products
- Develop communications to all affected internal and external clients, including other Ascensus business areas as needed
- Work with external third parties and relationship management team to assess partnerships
- Drive beta and pilot programs with early-stage products or major releases of existing products
- Collaborate with other Product Managers, Product Owners, Project Managers, and stakeholders to develop short- and long-range development plans and evaluate integration with other products
- Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience
- Three years experience in project management or product line management
- Experience in developing product line business cases
- Understanding the retirement plan marketplace and its position in the overall financial market preferred, but not required
- Must have or be willing to develop an understanding of governing regulations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to travel as needed
