Position Description:

Purpose

Our lab performs technology research and development for electron paramagnetic resonance. We are seeking a motivated individual to design and implement the next generation pulse and CW spectrometers for electron paramagnetic resonance to interface with state-of-the-art resonant probes. This project is part of a broader effort to significantly increase the sensitivity of EPR for protein single crystal and microfluidic applications and lead the field in biomedical research technology.

The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative laboratory focused on the structure–function duality of medically relevant enzymes in the Department of Biophysics, with access to state-of-the-art instrumentation and expertise in EPR spectroscopy. The applicant will be part of an interdisciplinary team. A successful individual will mentor graduate students in research projects. Strong collaborative skills are required.

Primary Functions

Supervise and independently execute studies related to the project described above, including performing experiments, analyzing data, and disseminating results through presenting at conferences and writing manuscripts.

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities

Ideal candidates will have experience expertise in one or more of the following:

  • Magnetic resonance, electron paramagnetic resonance
  • Microwave components and system design
  • Hardware/software interfacing
  • Python, MATLAB, LabView, C/C++
  • Keysight ADS
  • Excellent writing skills, as evidenced by first author publications





Preferred Schedule:
8:00 - 5:00
