We have an immediate opening for a Permit Coordinator. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and potential for growth.

Highly organized and detail oriented; able to complete tasks on strict deadlines with complete follow through; working with time-sensitive and confidential information; must have good communication and problem-solving skills; able to work under pressure in a fast-paced construction company.

What Does a Permit Coordinator Do?

A permit coordinator works with multiple parties in the construction industry to ensure projects stay on track by expediting the permit process. As a Coordinator, you help the contractor obtain building permits, permits for a structure to be altered, or whatever regulatory permits are required for their project. You may work with engineers, architects, and design staff to ensure permit applications contain every required item to avoid costly delays in the review process.

What Are the Responsibilities of a Permit Coordinator?

As a Permit Coordinator, your responsibilities include:

  • Receive project orders, research background information, route to appropriate teams for review, and monitor for status.
  • Assemble permit packages digitally.
  • Maintains computer input on permits and tracks their status, updates files daily.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records of construction progress, inspections, and files; schedules final inspections and closes out files when work has been completed.
  • Work closely with designers and Project Managers to prepare technical documents including submittal packages.
  • Ability to schedule, organize, and execute assigned tasks.
  • Ability to obtain information from other agencies related to the lawful operation of businesses.
  • Ability to communicate, meet and deal with clients and employees in a pleasant, courteous manner.
  • Establish rapport with cities, counties, municipalities, and public works departments.
  • Ability to handle multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities daily.
  • Ability to accurately record and transfer data from one source to another and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Prepare, deliver, and pick up additional permit applications for utilities or other services
  • Must have a vehicle, a valid driver’s license and be willing to commute to physical office location daily.

Role Summary:

The successful candidate will take ownership of the pre-build process from lot acquisitions through receipt of permit and issuance of Certificate of Occupancy. You will work to expedite permit timing by minimizing time to complete in every part of the permitting process as well as filing error free submissions for each approving municipality based on their individual criteria.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Business Administration or two years of related experience.
  • Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
  • Pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Real Estate Development, Mortgage Industry, Title, Insurance or Construction Experience

Salary: From $52,000.00 - $70,200.00 negotiable based on experience and performance.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
