We are looking for a Peeling Technician to join our team. As a Peeling Technician, team member is responsible for the safe operation and efficiency of the topper/tailer machines and their general upkeep and maintenance.

Duties & Responsibilities
Essential
- Troubleshoot break downs on peeling equipment by locking out equipment and making appropriate repairs
- Adjust air, top and tail configurations, and head adjustments to whatever size of onion we are running
- Ensure that Quality Assurance is satisfied with cut length and quality
- Grease Backus and perform preventative maintenance on topper tailers, conveyors and bearings at least once per shift.
- Keep peeling tech supervisor abreast of any parts that are getting low in inventory
- Maintain awareness of onion size and quality in order to make adjustments to the machines that will optimize the efficiency with which we cut and peel onions coming through the plant
- Perform the preventative maintenance on work orders as generated by system
- Ensure that work area is clean and that all safety guards are in place on machinery
- Arrive at work in time to correlate with coworker to determine best course of action to ensure machines are running properly during shift
- Maintain good personal hygiene, follow GMP’s and keep a clean, safe and sanitary work place. Immediately report any situation that may cause product to be contaminated.
- Display to the Guard your DFF-issued photo ID whenever entering the premises. Report the loss of this ID card to the supervisor. Do not give your ID card to any other individual. Immediately report to the supervisor any suspicious activity by employees or visitors.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Essential
- Well organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of food industry regulations understands and is compliant with GMP standards.
- Able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy.
- Able to travel to all areas of the plant efficiently, including climbing stairs.
- Mechanically inclined and troubleshooting experience
- Able to lift 50 lbs frequently during shift
- Must be able to work effectively and safely in a wet and hot/cold environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.39 per hour
