Brief description of duties: PNP/FNP needed to provide pediatric emergency care coverage at OCH Emergency Department including Kids Express (fast track/urgent care). The candidate must be able to obtain a complete history and physical exam on emergency department patients and formulate a plan of action regarding diagnosis and treatment in accordance with established protocols, order diagnostic tests, contact primary care providers, provide discharge instructions and identify and discuss cases that are complex with the Emergency Department Attending and consultants. Flexibility in scheduling is required. On the job procedural training and procedural sedation training will also be required and provided.

Qualifications: Current professional license as a nurse practitioner with board certification. PALS certification. Experience in pediatrics and performing common surgical procedures is beneficial but not required.

Education: Graduate of an accredited Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program; M.S.N. and NYS certification as a nurse practitioner.
