ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
  • Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, sales commissions, taxes, insurance, other deductions to be withheld, and employee identification number from time sheets and other records.
  • Enters data into computer files or computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records.
  • Verify timecard calculations for compliance with federal and state agencies in addition to Company policy, as well as any corrections necessary to both the timekeeping software and Payroll.
  • Reviews payroll results and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
  • Confirms that each employee has a bank account or ADP Wisely card for direct deposit.
  • Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records.
  • Records data concerning transfer of employees between departments.
  • Keeps track of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
  • Track and reconcile various accounts related to payroll such as boots, jackets, uniforms, personal shipments, per diem and expense reimbursements and various insurances.
  • Track and reconcile various weekly deductions, such as garnishments and child support, in addition to deductions for employees on unpaid leave.
  • Keeps track of benefit time in accordance with Company policies.
  • Reconcile and process monthly commission, spiff, bonus and weekly paychecks.
  • Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes and deductions.
  • Process reports for management review as needed.
  • Assists whenever necessary, by answering incoming telephone calls; sorting mail; filing; direct interaction with employees; binding and filing weekly payroll reports; working on special projects.
  • Will be required to work onsite for the first few months during training. Will then be able to work from home as long as they have reliable internet and a quiet workspace as stated in our WFH policy.
  • Once WFH is established, they will be required to come into the office once a month, on a rotating schedule, to complete the final payroll submission to the bank. There may be other occasions where they are required to come, in as well.
