Pastor’s Role and Duties
Our desire is to partner with a pastor who is called by God to this body, this community and this situation. The pastor’s role as described in our bylaws entails-

● Leading the church to the next level of effectiveness in the achievement of its mission

● Leading the members by teaching biblical truth
● Guiding the ministry teams by advising them in their management of all church operations
● Being accountable to the leadership team and the membership

The pastor’s duties include communicating an understanding of the Bible through life-application preaching/teaching, providing education/Bible study, supporting the ministry by interpreting the faith, evangelism, giving understanding and appropriate assistance through pastoral care, making connections with church and community members, seeking the potential of people as leaders and helping to provide opportunities for leadership development, developing and maintaining programs and activities for church growth, and arranging for and conducting all regular services of the church. We look forward to discussing with candidates what their vision of ministry in Midvale would look like.

Our Church and Our Community
Our church, dating back to the early 1900’s, has always had a deep connection to our small community. In addition to weekly services, most years we host a VBS program in the summer, work with other local churches to conduct an Easter sunrise service and community Thanksgiving dinner, and help with a multitude of other community needs.

Midvale is a small, rural community with much to offer. It has experienced a growth trend over the past few years and has many new families moving into the area. The church, located centrally in town, is directly across from the local K-12 school and just up the road from other amenities including the post office, library, mercantile, cafe, swimming pool and volunteer fire and ambulance station.

We are looking for a pastor who not only wants to become part of our church family, but also part of our community. We are seeking a person who has a desire to grow our church and to lead people in our area to a relationship with the Lord.

Compensation
This is a part time position for which we would like to offer a salary package of $2,000 per month plus housing and utilities which includes phone, internet and electric. Water and sewage are also provided with the housing at no additional cost. We also offer reimbursement of ministry-related expenses including conventions, continuing education, books, and mileage reimbursement for pastoral duties.
