Job Description

Our client, a leading produce company, is currently seeking an accomplished Operations Manager to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:

1) Coordinate people, equipment and supplies for a harvesting and transplanting group to accomplish the mission

2) Interview, hire, train and organize all personnel required for an Operating Team

3) Promote and implement proper equipment operating procedures in a manner conducive to safety standards

4) Analyze the transplant and harvest group’s performance and trends

5) Address issues impacting performance in a timely and efficient manner

6) Perform routine maintenance and diagnose field breakdowns, personally perform field repairs and perform off-season overhauls on transplant and harvester equipment with fellow team mechanics

7) Develop and maintain a professional relationship with customer growers

8) Promote a culture focused on job safety and follow the standards and procedures set forth in the company safety program

9) Audit the performance and quality of service provided by the group

10) Use audits to improve performance and customer satisfaction

11) Organize and coordinate field moves in a safe and efficient manner

12) Promote and enforce a high level of accountability among colleagues

13) Provide operational and performance reports as requested by fellow colleagues

14) Promote and encourage an environment conducive to the principles of Mission-Focused Self-Management

15) Perform other duties as assigned

Critical Requirements

1) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

2) Recent experience in the produce industry is strongly preferred

3) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in operations management
