Community Day Care (CDC) has two preschools (CDC House and CDC Forest), two before- and after-school programs (Burns Park Elementary and Lawton Elementary) and a school-age summer camp. The Preschool Program

CDC has two preschool locations--CDC House, located in lower Burns Park, and CDC Forest, on the southwest side of Ann Arbor. Our preschools are for children 2 ½ through 5 years. Our preschools use play-based learning, mixed-aged settings and choice-based programming. Both school locations use the Highscope approach and value an environment where children can explore and expand their developmental knowledge by directing their own play. We strive to create a supportive community where children’s own growth and strengths can be expanded and provide them with the skills and independence to succeed as they grow as individuals.

The One-on-one Preschool Aide

The one-on-one aide will work at CDC Forest, directly with a single student who receives special education services. The aide will work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and the entire teaching team. Responsibilities include:

• Active supervision
• Engagement in numerous daily activities including lunch, rest time, active play indoors and outdoors, and small-group lessons
• Diapering

Will train. Great hands-on learning opportunities for education students and/or child-related fields.

The Recruitment Process for the One-on-one Preschool Aide
The recruiting process will include a combination of phone screens, virtual interviews, finger printing and pre-employment background check.
