Okuma Multus B250 Programmer/ Operator
Responsible for programming, fixturing, tool set-up, machining, in-process inspection, and final completion of tight tolerance details (+/- 0.0002). Work with CNC personnel, toolmakers, engineers, and supervisors to plan and execute the most cost-effective method for producing quality parts. High level of exposure to the following: G & M code programming, GD & T.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Under supervision, performs machining of numerous kinds of parts, tools, and machines
- Develop precise processes, create precision part programs, select tooling and set-up precision jobs
- Operates various types of machine tools and performs progressive machining operations for metal parts, tools, and machines with close tolerances or high finish requirements
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and quality workmanship
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean work area
- Train apprentices and new hires, as required
- Complete time travelers, required inspections, and appropriate paperwork
Candidate should have experience, and expect to work on a Daewoo Puma 85 CNC Turning Center
Education and/or Experience
- 2-5 years of demonstrated experience or equivalent
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints & mechanical drawings
- Ability to operate manual and CNC machining equipment
- Knowledge of carbide drills, end mills, inserted cutters, and boring tooling
- Knowledge of G & M code programming
- Knowledge of feeds & speeds
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to solve problems using critical thinking skills
- Ability to organize and manage priorities, meet deadlines, and expectations
- Ability to measure/inspect lengths, diameters, straightness, flatness, etc.
- Strong knowledge of GD & T
- Knowledge of the machineability of ferrous and non-ferrous materials
- Strong ability to program using a CAM system, preferably Mastercam
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Solid understanding of the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Physical Demands
The physical demands of the job will include lifting, bending and sitting. Lifting to include picking up, pushing or pulling loads up to 50 pounds. Stand 7 to 8 hours per shift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
