MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Scribing during visits, ensuring all visit proceedings are recorded.

2. Assisting the medical practitioners with minor in-office procedures.

3. Serving patients courteously and efficiently, ensuring that the highest standards of patient service are met at all times.

4. Providing patients with lab results, prescription information, and other important communications over the phone.

5. Assisting with and completing medical paperwork, often coordinating information with pharmacies, collaborating medical facilities, and insurance companies.

6. Logging laboratory specimens, ensuring quality care and service when handling all patient samples.

7. Ensuring the quality of all medical supplies that are used during medical visits and procedures, as well as preparing rooms for all visits.

HOURS OF WORK AND WORK REQUIREMENTS

· Shifts typically are full day shifts, beginning at 7:15 AM (15 minutes prior to work day start) and ending between 5 and 6 PM. Friday hours typically have the same start time of 7:15 AM, but end at 4 PM.

*Full time positions can be for 4 or 5 days/week or can alternate 4-5 days/week if preferred*

· All Medical Assistants are required to work with and appropriately handle liquid nitrogen, biohazard materials, and sharps. HIPAA and blood borne pathogen training and certification are offered on site.

· Reliable transportation is required for this position. Free Parking Lots are available at both offices for staff and patients. Our Buffalo location is a 1 minute walk from a bus stop and a 5-7 minute walk from the LaSalle Metro Rail Station. Our East Amherst location is a 5-7 minute walk from a bus stop.

· Medical experience is required and EMR experience is preferred.

· Minimum of an Associate’s Degree is required.

COVID-19 considerations:
Regular and routine cleanings of the patient waiting room are performed. In addition, patient COVID screenings are performed for every single patient. Masks are available to employees and both hand-washing and hand sanitizer stations are available.
