We are in search of a Manufacturing Supervisor for our 1st (6am-6pm) and 2nd shift (6am-6pm + shift differential).

Job Duties

  • Reports to the Plant Manager. Collaborates with the Plant Manager on preventive and corrective actions regarding production and personnel problems.
  • The Supervisor shall be responsible for a shift of employees, managing the operation of the plant and overseeing the production of the plant. Responsible for the respect of production objectives in terms of quality, volume and efficiency.
  • The Supervisor will on occasion assist the molders or assemblers in the performance of their work and shall provide instructions and training to employees. When a person is missing he organizes the personnel to keep the plant running and if necessary takes the position of molder or assembly operator. The supervisor organizes mold handling with the maintenance technician. The supervisor carries out immediate corrective actions on the process following the Quality Control Supervisor recommendations.
  • The Supervisor shall be responsible for the administration of company policies and procedures and shall communicate these to all employees. Analyze the production, count acceptable and rejected production and fill the production report.
  • The administration of production reporting, quality control reporting, and payroll administration shall be done using a computer requiring existing knowledge of computers. Reports shall be delivered to the Plant Manager (GM). Participates in shift personnel evaluation. Work in coordination with the Shipping Operator to ensure production quality. Takes part in preventive and corrective actions.
  • Accurately monitors the production of each operator providing written reporting as well as entering data at a computer keyboard. Controls and optimizes the process parameters (rubber blending, molding, injection and assembly operations).
  • Observes and controls the process adhering to set production procedures and make decisions regarding process adjustments. Distributes the workload to the shift personnel according to production schedule. Takes care of the stacking and packaging operations when necessary. Provides parts and components to the molders, and assembly personnel. Uses the lift truck and pallet jacks to load and unload trucks, move pallets from production area to staging or warehouse area.
  • Observes and reacts to equipment conditions and potential hazardous conditions affecting the process and safety of employees is required. Possesses troubleshooting and maintenance skills in order to keep the plant running. Has the authority to shut down any equipment when there is a potential hazardous situation for the employees. Lead the start-ups and shutdown when required by the operation.
  • Supervisors shall undertake regular inspections and checks of machinery and equipment and perform routine maintenance and shall call in maintenance help as required. Maintain a log of breakdowns and maintenance requirements for actions to be performed by the maintenance technician during normal working hours. The supervisor works in full cooperation with the maintenance technician. He helps in preventive and corrective actions.
  • Observes and provides instruction to everyone regarding the safe performance of the job. React to unsafe conditions and correct them immediately. Responsible for safety within the plant premises and working areas.
  • Plans the work and establishes priorities, while anticipating problems and reacting to emergency situations. Responsible for monitoring personnel working time.
  • Periodically the supervisor will be required to attend management meetings and attend training sessions outside the regular shift schedules. Provide training to new and current shift personnel.

Education and Experience

Applicants shall have a minimum of a high school diploma or a GED. It is highly desirable for persons to have Associates degrees in business and or a technical field. Experience in machine paced manufacturing operations is desirable. Previous experience in compression molding of goods, good level of communication and inter personal skills in desirable. A forklift operator’s license must also be acquired and maintained.

Physical requirements
The work is repetitive in loading and unloading hot molds. Supervisors must be capable of lifting five to ten pound molded parts and providing instruction and be fully capable of performing molders job. Standing and walking around the presses and all areas of the plant is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
