Job Responsibilities:
The Associate Mechanical Engineer is responsible for maintaining the safe operation and reliability of the refinery equipment by applying standard engineering principles, theories, concepts, and techniques in providing solutions to a variety of fixed and rotating equipment problems that develop during operation, maintenance repair and/or turnarounds, as well as performing root cause failure analysis in order to make recommendations for equipment that will eliminate the causes for equipment unreliability.
Additional duties include:
- Provide technical support to maintenance & operations to increase equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs
- Apply standard engineering principles, theories, concepts, troubleshooting, scope development and other techniques to provide solutions to a variety of fixed or rotating equipment problems
- Participate in Hazard and Operability studies and work to resolve engineering action items
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or above (A=4.0) (Must provide proof of current GPA at time of hire to verify eligibility requirements are met)
- Refinery/Petrochemical process plant engineering experience providing technical support for piping, fixed or rotating equipment, preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
Eligibility Requirements:
The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. Candidates selected for employment must meet eligibility criteria to obtain a TWIC card.
