This position is for 1st shift, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Overtime is available with the business needs. Job Summary
The Lathe Machinist at Triumph Gear Systems is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of CNC Lathes in the Lathe Department. The Lathe Machinist must be able to produce high-quality products according to Triumph Gear Systems Lathe department operations manual. Duties/Responsibilities
  • Read, interpret, and apply information from engineering drawings
  • Adhere to job plans per job travelers
  • Set-up multiple types of jobs with fixtures
  • Operate CNC Lathes
  • Basic Maintenance of CNC Lathes
  • Use precision measurement equipment
  • Install and maintain cutting tools
  • Consistently produce quality parts
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary CNC related certificate or degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Lathe operations.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to use hand tools
