Full Time: $3,000 per month
Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m-5:00 p.m. in person
Hours will vary during the legislative session.
Senate Purchasing is seeking a full time inventory/supply clerk who will be responsible for maintaining the Senate inventory stock and fulfilling orders. The ideal candidate will have a background in customer service and or government work. Main responsibilities include stocking, receiving and issuing supplies, and answering phone calls. Works under general supervision of the purchasing director and performs other duties as assigned.
General Qualifications:
Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent is required. Customer service experience preferred. Graduation from a 4 year university preferred but not required.
Responsibilities include:
· Effectively maintain the front office:
Sell supplies, postage and State flags to Senate staff members.
Answer a multi-line telephone system.
Take accurate messages.
Forward and transfer calls to individuals or offices.
· Manage stock inventory supplies and order supplies as needed.
· Receive and unpack inventory supplies and stock shelves.
· Receive purchase orders for individual Senate offices and Purchasing stock using Performance Series accounting system.
· Take part in the yearly supply count and update the yearly supply inventory excel spreadsheet.
· Reconcile inventory discrepancies.
· Handle monthly count of the State flags.
· Assist Purchasing Staff with duties as requested.
· Record flag purchases and create weekly report.
· Receive, label and distribute West Publishing books and pamphlets.
· Print and distribute 30 day viewable phone bills to Senators, Committees and Central staff each month.
· During the Legislative session the Purchasing office will be open 7am-6pm January through May throughout odd years and when Senators are on the Chamber floor. It will be essential at times to work odd hours.
· Be able to utilize your free time in a positive manner and to be flexible with your time.
· Occasionally required to run errands and pick up orders outside Senate.
· Occasionally lift large boxes.
