Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Human Resources Associate for the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center located in Anna, Illinois to perform specialized paraprofessional human resource activities in the Personnel Office. Maintains updated LOA (Leaves of Absence) report in an electronic spreadsheet. Maintains files and documentation of employees’ leaves of absences. Processes personnel transactions and group insurance program forms. Interprets personnel Rules, department rules, regulations, policies, Pay Plan, and contract agreements.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs specialized paraprofessional human resource activities in the Personnel Office at Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center.
- Updates computerized performance evaluation system and forwards monthly notification of due dates to management staff.
- Processes personnel transactions.
- Assists Human Resources Representative in administration of the MyBenefits Marketplace.
- Maintains employee’s personnel files and salary histories.
- Serves as office receptionist and responds to inquiries regarding employment to general public.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college or satisfactory completion of an approved training program.
- Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
- Requires the ability to travel.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
- Requires ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
