Houseperson - Housekeeping Job at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas
As a Floor Stylist/House Person, your conscientious concern will be a critical support for your employees, helping them maintain the cleanliness and beauty of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Along the way, you will also interact with guests directly; delivering service that is polished without pretense and creating a friendly, comfortable atmosphere to delight guests during every stay.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain the cleanliness of all assigned guest areas.
- Sign for iTouch, pick up keys and assigned projects.
- Check elevators and track to ensure cleanliness.
- Maintain linen and supply inventories in linen and locker rooms.
- Clean and mop all locker rooms and straighten shelves as required.
- Biohazard clean-up of soiled areas.
- Clean and sanitation of equipment used in soiled areas.
- Pick up linen and trash from Room Stylist.
- Maintain the cleanliness of ashtrays and trashcans in public areas.
- Prepare list of items needing repair.
- Check all rollways, baby cribs, and other requested items for maintenance and serviceability.
- Deep clean all rooms in assigned area as per schedule. (Pull Rooms)
- Maintain cleanliness of terraces.
- Clean assigned stairwells.
- Vacuum assigned hallways.
- Frequently spot-check and clean hallways.
- Clean ice machines, vending machines and tile floors.
- Maintain Room Stylist vacuum belts and bags.
- Receive and stock housekeeping supplies.
- Deliver requested items to guest.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- At least three months of professional cleaning experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English.
- Working knowledge of Housekeeping Department including safety and OSHA regulatory guidelines.
- Polished appearance and demeanor
- Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- At least 18 years of age.
Preferred:
- Previous cleaning experience in a large, luxury resort setting.
- Previous experience in a Housekeeping Department.

- Bending and reaching.
- Transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 25 lbs.

- Ability to push and/or pull file cabinet drawers weighing up to 5 lbs.
- Ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
- Ability to comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions.
