• Has primary responsibility for ensuring Facility linen and resident’s personal clothing are properly collected, sorted, laundered, distributed and/or stored according to Company policy. Common responsibilities for Laundry Aide’s include (but are not limited to):
• Promotes and maintains a focus of patient-centered care
• Adheres to laws, rules & regulations and practices ethical integrity and interpersonal skills
• Maintains compliance with long-term care regulations including federal, state and health regulations
• Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in shift assignments to meet Facility needs
• Handles all laundry in accordance with sanitary guidelines and safety precautions
• Sorts all soiled laundry into appropriate categories. Lifts and carries loads of laundry to /from cleaning equipment
• Washes, dries, folds, and hangs all laundry neatly and properly
• Identifies personal laundry with resident’s name and re-marks personal clothing items, as needed
• Returns clean resident laundry to appropriate rooms and supply areas
• Cleans dryer filters regularly each day, keeps laundry area clean, machines dusted, and floor mopped
• Works in cooperation with other employees of the Facility to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for both residents and staff
• Interacts with residents and family members, co-workers, clinical and ancillary staff in a non-judgmental, supportive and calm manner
• Addresses family satisfaction issues immediately by reporting them to the Supervisor in a professional manner
• Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a positive, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude
• Perform position duties in a manner as to assure resident safety and rights are priority
• Adheres to the facility corporate compliance program and promotes the program in a positive and effective manner
• Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment/shift setting
